Pitchfork, Fists Used in Fight Between Laurel Racetrack Employees

Police said the men were arguing before the assault occurred.

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating an assault between two employees at the Laurel Race Track Monday morning.

According to a police report, officers responded around 5:12 a.m. for a reported assault in the 3600 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road.

A 27-year-old man told police he was in an argument with another man when that man punched him and charged him with a pitchfork, the report said.

The reported victim deflected the attacked by striking the suspect— Jose Maria Colindres Salazar, 60, of 3600 Laurel Fort Meade Road— with another object and then fleeing the scene, police said.

Salazar was charged with first degree assault, second degree assault and reckless endangerment.
