Police Search For Man Who Pistol-Whipped Hooters Employees

Man robs Hooters store, elderly woman's purse snatched in this week's Laurel Police blotter May 5 -15.

Laurel Police are continuing to search for a man who allegedly robbed a Hooters Restaurant and beat several employees with a handgun.

The incident happened May 15 along the 14700 block of Baltimore Avenue. According to police, a man entered the restaurant through a rear door and struck the manager in the head with a handgun and ordered him to give him money. Another employee was walking past the manager’s office and was also struck in the head with the handgun. After obtaining the money the suspect fled out the rear door and ran in a northeast direction.

Thief Snatches Senior Citizen’s Purse at Laurel Mall

Laurel Police were able to recover a 77-year old woman’s purse that was snatched from her at Laurel Mall.

According to police, the woman reported that she was walking to her car in the mall’s parking lot when a teenage male grabbed her purse from her and ran towards Fourth Street.  The purse was recovered sometime later along the 15000 block of Laurelland Place. The purse was missing credit cards, driver’s license and an undisclosed about of cash.

14900 Block Bowie Road       

A 17-year-old male was walking near the railroad path next to the rescue squad when he was confronted by three males. One of the males asked if the victim had any money and when he replied no the suspect punched the victim in the head area then reached into his pocket and removed the victim’s cell phone. The victim walked away and the suspect left the area in an unknown direction. The victim did not want medical attention.
