Police Searching for Man Who Robbed Laurel Woman

The suspect cornered a Laurel woman as she got out of her car in front of her residence, stole her purse and fled.

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Laurel woman while she sat in her car parked in front of her house.

Anne Arundel County Police were called at 8:10 p.m Monday to the 3400 block of Bitterwood Court in Laurel for a robbery report. The 38-year-old female victim said she was getting out of her vehicle in front of her residence when she was confronted by a male suspect. The man cornered the victim in between her car door and the car, placed his hand over her mouth and pushed an unknown object into the woman’s side.

The suspect then grabbed the victim’s bag and fled to a vehicle parked in an adjacent parking lot. Police said the woman saw the suspect leave the area toward Russet Green in a silver Mazda hatchback.

No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery. Several officers, the aviation unit and K-9 responded to the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a black man in his early 30s, about 5’11”, 180 pounds with black, braided hair, wearing a black hat, a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
