Police: Two Arrested in Assault at Laurel-Area Knights Inn

A woman at the hotel suffered a cut to her arm, police said.

Two people were arrested Wednesday after allegedly assaulting a woman in a Maryland City hotel room, the Capital Gazette reports.

Gus T. Williams, 29, of Queenstown, and Melanie K. Camacho, 24, of Landover, were charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and weapons charges, according to the paper.

Anne Arundel County police said that officers responded around 12:20 p.m. to the Knights Inn on Laurel Fort Meade Road, where they found a woman suffering from a small cut to her arm.

Police believe the woman had been in a fight with Camacho and Williams. The latter was reportedly in possession of a knife when arrested.
