Prosecutors in Anne Arundel County are trying to put a man charged in scamming thousands from customers in Laurel behind bars.

Prosecutors contend that Clack, who also has a residence in North Carolina, was allegedly scamming residents by offering to do contract work on residential driveways. According to WJLA, he told customers that he had left over materials from a previous job. He would then quote customers a price to repave their driveway and then give a substantially larger price once the job was done, the tv station reported.

Clack has been banned from doing business in North Carolina for running the same scam, according to WJLA. In addition, court record show that Clack is facing similar charges related to the scam in Prince George’s County, Queen Anne’s County, and Baltimore County.

“His judgment day will come, this guy needs to be in jail, consumers should not have to deal with this type of person who continues to violate the law, time and time again,” Roy Cooper, North Carolina’s attorney general, told WJLA.

Clack is scheduled to appear before an Anne Arundel Circuit Court judge Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
