Report: Laurel Police Search For Suspect in Arson of City Official's Car

Police are offering a $5,000 reward.

Laurel Police are asking for the public's assistance after the arson of a public official's car over the weekend.

The incident happened early Saturday morning. According to the Laurel Leader, the vehicle belonged to Laurel Deputy Administrator Martin Flemion. He told the Leader that the incident happened at his home around 1:45 a.m. A neighbor alerted Flemion that his 2008 Saturn VUE has been doused with gasoline and set ablaze.

Flemion's city-issued SUV was also doused with gasoline.

Laurel Police are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who has information on the case. The suspect likely suffered burn injuries that may require medical attention, according to police.
