Suspect Sought in Robbery at Maryland City Bank

Police say the man held up a Laurel-area Capital One branch on Monday.

Authorities are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a Capital One Bank Monday afternoon in Maryland City.

According to Anne Arundel County police, the suspect walked into the branch at 3355 Corridor Marketplace shortly before 4:49 p.m., approached a teller, and handed over a note "announcing a robbery and implying that he was armed."

Bank employees gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, at which point he fled in an unknown direction.

Police described the suspect as a black male in his 40's who was wearing a white baseball hat, a black t-shirt, a blue jacket, and gray/black jeans at the time of the robbery.

The investigation is ongoing.
