T-Shirt Bandit Eludes Police

Man steals 20 T-shirts, escapes police along Route 1 in this week's Laurel Police blotter, April 21 through May 1.

Laurel Police are continuing the search for a man who stole 20 T-shirts from Macy’s, but was able to elude police in a car chase along Baltimore Avenue.

The incident happened along the 14800 block of Baltimore Avenue on April 22.  According to police, the man had stolen T-shirts from the Macy’s Department store at Laurel Mall. The man fled the scene in a black Mercedes-Benz. But when police began to pursue the vehicle, the suspect began throwing T-shirts out of the car window onto Baltimore Avenue. Police were forced to end the chase due to weather and traffic conditions. Laurel Police later located the owner of the vehicle but are still investigating.
