Third Street Robbery in Four Days Reported in Maryland City

The suspects robbed a delivery driver in the Laurel area and fled toward the Tall Oaks Apartment Complex, police said.

A delivery driver was hit in the head and robbed Saturday night in Maryland City—less than half a mile from where two other street robberies were reported in the past week.

According to Anne Arundel County police, officers responded to the 100 block of Easton South around 10:22 p.m. for a complaint of a robbery.

The victim, a delivery driver, told police that he had been walking out of an apartment building when he was approached from behind by an unknown number of male subjects.

The attackers struck him in the head with an unknown object, took personal property from him, and fled toward the Tall Oaks Apartment Complex, he said.

Police canvassed the area but could not locate any suspects. The victim was unable to provide a detailed description of the robbers, but he told investigators one of them had dreadlocks.

On Thursday night, three people were reportedly robbed in the 200 block of Federalsburg South by two men wielding handguns. Police said the suspects in that case, described as males between the ages of 16 and 19, also fled toward Tall Oaks Apartment Complex.

On Wednesday, a Papa John's pizza delivery driver told police he was approached by five males—two of them armed with handguns—in the 3400 block of Chiswell Road. They made off with "several items of property and an undisclosed amount of cash," the victim reported.

Wednesday's robbery came five days after a different pizza delivery driver was the victim of an attempted armed robbery in the City of Laurel. A 35-year-old suspect was taken into custody in that case along with a BB-gun.
