Three-Car Collision on Route 29

Two injured during nighttime collision

Howard County Police are investigating a three-car collision along Route 29 in North Laurel last night that sent two people to the hospital.

According to police, the incident happened around 9:14 p.m. along the southbound lanes of Route 29 just north of Johns Hopkins Road. The collision involved a 2009 Honda Civic, a 2002 Mercedes SUV, and a 2004 Toyota Sienna. 

The Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Route 29 approaching Johns Hopkins Road, when it lost control striking the Mercedes SUV, causing the Mercedes to travel into the median where it rolled over multiple times.  The Honda Civic continued southbound on Route 29 where it struck the Toyota Sienna on the passenger’s side causing the Honda Civic to stop in the median.

Maryland State Police Medevac transported the drivers of the Honda Civic and the Mercedes to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Both were listed in stable condition.
