Three Suspects, Two Robberies: Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Laurel: Robbery

A victim was walking on U.S. Route 1 on Sept. 9 when three suspects got out of a vehicle and asked for money. When the victim said he didn’t have any, the suspects assaulted him. The victim was able to escape and went to a nearby business to call police. Police found the suspects’ vehicle nearby and two occupants were arrested. There is no description of the third suspect.

Laurel: Robbery

On Sept. 9, a victim was walking on Glen Ridge Drive when three unknown suspects confronted him, displayed a knife and demanded money. The victim ran away and, after a brief chase, the suspects stopped following him. Police are investigating whether this incident is related to the robbery on U.S. Route 1.

Suspects:

  • Black male, muscular build, bald, not wearing a shirt
  • White male, thin, tall, beard, wearing a hat
  • No other description provided

Mt. Airy: Break-in

There were no signs of forced entry at a home on the 17200 block of Old Frederick Road. The suspect or suspects stole a television sometime between Aug. 18 and Aug. 20

Elkridge: Break-in 

On Sept. 8, a suspect or suspects entered a home on the 6800 block of Old Waterloo Road by prying open the front door. Stolen were two televisions, a laptop and watches.

Elkridge: Break-in

On Sept. 9 a suspect or suspects tried to break into a house on the 6300 block of Orchard Drive by removing a screen. The suspect fled when the resident heard a noise and went to investigate. No description of the suspect is available.

Columbia: Break-in

On Sept. 8, a suspect or suspects entered a home on the 7500 block of Broadcloth Way through an unlocked door and stole an mp3 player and a laptop computer. 

VEHICLE THEFTS/ATTEMPTS:

Columbia: A Honda dirt bike with the license MD6D5267 was stolen from the 8700 block of Cloudleap Court on Sept. 8.

Columbia: A green Dodge Caravan with the license MD7AH6399 was stolen from the 8800 block of Tamar Drive on Sept. 8.

Laurel: A Yamaha motorcycle with the license MDD58134 was stolen from the 9200 block of Livery Lane on Sept. 9.

Laurel: A dark blue Chevrolet Trailblazer with the license MD 61271HV was stolen from the 9000 block of Stebbing Way on Sept. 8.

Laurel: A black and red Honda CBR 954 with the license MD D44288 was stolen from the 9600 block of Barrel House Road sometime between Sept. 8 and Sept. 9.
