Tools and Bike Stolen in Savage; Attempted Burglary at Tools & Accessories: Weekend Crime Roundup

Savage

Residential burglary

Someone entered a shed on the 8700 block of Baltimore Street on March 30 at about 9 a.m. and stole tools and a bicycle, according to police. The burglar also tried to take the radio from a vehicle on the property.

When police arrived at Tools & Accessories Corp., on the 8900 block of Henkels Lane, at about 3:30 a.m. on April 1, they reportedly found a stolen van, backed up into the front of the business. A chain had been attached to the door and the van’s bumper. Police believe that after a failed attempt to open the door, the burglars backed the van into it. The engine was running and the door was open when police arrived, and the front door glass and windows were smashed.  Several display tools from the front of the business were reported stolen.

Columbia

Street robbery

A man was robbed on the footpath near Phelps Luck Road and High Tor Hill on March 29 at about 8:50 p.m., according to police. 

Residential burglary

A resident returned home to the 6600 block of Farbell Row on March 30 and found that sometime between 5 and 9 p.m., a back door had been pried open and a back sliding door was open, according to police. Nothing was reported stolen.

Laurel 

Robbery

Three masked people, one with a handgun, accosted a resident of the 10600 block of Glen Hannah Drive while he was entering his home on March 29 at about 2:50 a.m. The resident was forced into his home where the robbers stole his wallet, cell phone and laptop computer. They asked the victim for more money, and then hit him on the side of the head with a handgun. The victim’s wallet – minus cash – was later found in the backyard.

Residential burglary 

Sometime between 11 p.m. March 20 and 8 a.m. March 30, someone entered a home on the 8600 block of Garnet Rock Gate through an unlocked garage door, according to police. A purse was reported stolen from the kitchen counter. 

Ellicott City

Commercial robbery 

Two men approached someone making the money drop at the Pizza Hut on the 9200 block of Old Annapolis Road on March 30 at about 1 a.m. One of the two men showed a knife or a stick and yelled at the victim to drop the money, according to police. The victim dropped the cash, then called 911. The first suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-9 and 150 pounds. He had a mustache and was wearing a black ski mask with a hole cut out for the face and tight-fitting clothes. The second suspect was wearing similar clothing as the first, but there is no further description.

Dayton

Residential burglary

Someone entered an unlocked shed on the 4400 block of Linthicum Road sometime between March 16 and March 28. A motorcycle, mountain bike and chain saw were reported stolen.

County-wide vehicle thefts/attempts 

On March 30 at about 7:45 p.m., a blue 1999 BMW was stolen from 20 Ruth Avenue.

Sometime late March 29/early March 30, a gold Ford F150 was stolen from Fuentes Brothers, on the 7900 block of Dorsey Run Road. 

Sometime late March 28/early March 29, a black 1999 Honda Civic with the tags: MD 9AM7240 was stolen from the 9400 block of Mayflower Court

On March 27 at about 7:50 a.m., a gold 1998 Nissan Sentra with the tags: MD 3BZF27 was stolen from the 6500 block of Quiet Hours. The vehicle had been left running. It was later recovered on Knighthood Lane. 

On March 26 at about 5:40 p.m., a gold 2002 Buick Century with no tags was stolen from the 7100 block of Dorsey Run Road.
