Two Arrests in Granville Gude Park Playground Fire

Police say a pair of juveniles were taken into custody Friday after Laurel's second playground fire in a week.

Authorities say two juvenile males were arrested Friday night shortly after a playground fire at Granville Gude Park—the second such blaze in Laurel in less than a week.

According to City of Laurel spokesman Pete Piringer, neighbors noticed a small fire on a set of playground equipment at the park (8300 Mulberry St.) around 8:30 p.m.

Several "people of interest" were seen running away from the scene, Piringer said.
