Two Laurel Teens Charged in Armed Robberies of Delivery Drivers
Two Laurel teenagers have been charged as adults in the armed robberies of five restaurant delivery drivers.
Laurel Police have arrested two teenagers who they say are responsible for a series of armed robberies involving restaurant delivery drivers.
Between June 15 and 25, five delivery drivers have been robbed at gunpoint in the area of North Arbory Way and Alan Drive. Most of the ambushes happened between 3:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.
In each case, someone phoned in a fake delivery order to a local restaurant and gave the address of a vacant house. When the driver showed up, he was robbed of cash and food.

Detectives identified a suspect and executed a search warrant at his home in the 7600 block of North Arbory Way. John Sterling III, 16, has been charged as adult with armed robbery, assault, and theft. He’s being held on $50,000 bond.
Police have also charged Markell Bowyer, 17, of the 15100 block of Kalmia Drive as an adult in the case. He is charged with armed robbery assault, and theft charges. Bowyer’s bond was set at $75,000.

Detectives found a black BB replica handgun that they say links both suspects to the crimes.
The investigation continues and more charges are pending.
