UPDATE: Police Release Name of Alleged Dunkin' Donuts Burglar

Laurel man was fatally wounded during botched robbery attempt at store.

Anne Arudel County Police have released the name of a man who was fatally injured while allegedly trying to rob a Dunkin' Donuts store in Laurel on Tuesday.

According to police,  Josue Alberto Angel, 29, of the 12000 block of Carland Place near South Laurel allegedly tried to rob the store but ended up being shot and killed by the store's owner.

The incident happened along the 3400 block of Laurel Fort Meade Road after 3:00 a.m.  when police responded to calls of a business robbery.

According to police, Angel entered the store pulled out a weapon and announced a robbery.  A fight broke out between the suspect and the 48-year-old store owner, and Angel was subsequently shot in the lower body. He was taken to Prince George's Shock Trauma in serious condition and later died from his injuries. 

According to court documents, Angel had a string traffic violations since 2009 including a Dec. 12 violation for attempting to drive without a license.
