Update: WSSC Set to Reopen

WSSC will open Tuesday after a weekend fire closed offices today.

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is set to reopen its offices Tuesday after a weekend fired caused a power outage that shut down offices early Monday.

Power was restored to the WSSC's headquarter earlier today, according to a press release on the company's web site. A transformer fire Sunday morning knocked out power to the building, located on Sweitzer Lane.

Damage was confined to an electrical transformer. No injuries were reported  and the company said there are no damage estimates available at this time. About 700 people work in the building, a high-rise that can be seen from I-95.
