Former Russian figure skater alleged to have fondled, sent inappropriate text messages to underage girl, CBS13 reports.

A former Olympian who worked at a Laurel skating rink is sitting in a Howard County jail after being arrested for allegations of having an inappropriate relationship with a former student, according to Baltimore's CBS affiliate WJZ.

Genrikh Sretenski, 50, a former Olympic skater from Russia now living in Clarksville was picked up on a warrant in Howard County this week after court documents alleged that he fondled an underage girl he was instructing and sent her as many as 500 text messages, WJZ reports.

Sretenski is awaiting extradition to New York where the charges of inappropriate conduct are filed. He was an instructor at the Mid-Atlantic Ice Dance College in West Laurel.

According to court documents, the conduct began last year. Sretenski allegedly took her to a hotel room during a competition in New York where he began kissing her and sat her on his lap where she claims he fondled her. She said ‘No’ to him and fled the room, reports WJZ.

His request for bail was denied on Thursday. His attorney said Srentiski is oblivious to the charges he is facing.

“We have no information underlying the facts of the charges at this time,” Adler said to WJZ.
