Weekend Fire at North Laurel Restaurant

Lighting strike at Wild Buffalo Grill Restaurant causes fire, evacuation.

Patrons at the in North Laurel received an early last call when the building erupted in flames, prompting an evacuation over the weekend.

According to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, the incident happened around 2 p.m along the 10000 block of Washington Blvd on Sunday. First arriving units reported a fire on the second floor and attic. Units from Howard, Anne Arundel and Prince Georges's counties extinguished the blaze within an hour. 

The restaurant was open at the time. No injuries were reported by staff or patrons who evacuated building. Fire investigators believe the fire was started by a lightning strike.
