Where/When: Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage at 600 Maryland Ave SW in  Washington, DC on Friday, July 1, Saturday, July 2, and Sunday, July 3, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: This free outdoor festival on The Mall is near the monuments and the Smithsonian museums. You and your family can learn more about different living traditions in a fun and educational setting!

Why Go: Spend the whole day celebrating the nation's independence at the park! The day's festivities will kick off with a parade starting at 11 a.m. There will be a slew of other activities, ranging from a horseshoe contest to a car show to live music. And, of course, the party will end with a fireworks display!
