Laurel Cable Scheduled to Go Off the Air Temporarily

The station's outage is expected to run no later than Aug. 23.

Submitted by the City of Laurel:

Mayor Craig A. Moe would like to make the public aware that beginning on August 12, 2013, the Laurel City Cable Station will be down and “off the air” for maintenance. To that end, the City’s PEG Access Channel will not be accessible for viewing on Channel 71 for Comcast and Channel 12 for Verizon FiOS. Internet or web streaming normally viewed live from your computer will also be temporarily affected by this maintenance procedure.

It is anticipated the Laurel City Cable Television Station and associated internet streaming will be down for no longer than August 23, 2013. The scope of the maintenance work that is being done is to consolidate equipment, cables and work spaces. Equipment and associated cable TV components will be moved into a Control room that houses the video and audio equipment for the Studio and Council Chambers. This work is being done to improve cable efficiencies and is part of the renovations associated with establishing the City of Laurel Department of Communications.
