Laurel Cooling Center Open For Fourth

Despite the Fourth of July Holiday, Laurel will open cooling centers and pool.

The City of Laurel has announced that it will open its cooling center and pools for residents during the Fourth of July holiday.

The announcement comes as are still without power and a new storm front

The cooling center will be at the Laurel Armory at 422 Montgomery Street, from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. The Greenview Drive Pool and Municipal Pool will both open at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Due to the high humidity and areas still without power, Mayor Craig Moe made the decision to open a cooling center at the facility because it is equipped with two lounge areas, large TV screens, WiFi and gaming systems. Charging stations will be set up for electronics.
