Prince George’s County to Hold Jobs Town Hall Meeting

County council members will be on hand for Jobs First Act meeting

Prince George’s County officials are set to hold a town hall meeting next week to help promote a county bill meant to spur job growth in communities.

The event, scheduled for March 19 in Hyattsville, is being sponsored by the Prince George’s County Minority Business Development Division, Council Chair Andrea Harrison and Councilman Mel Franklin.

The meeting will promote the “Jobs First Act,” a resolution passed last year by the county council to spur economic development and local employment for the purpose of enhancing the county’s overall economic development. The resolution creates bidding preferences and participation requirements for Local Small Minority Business Enterprise businesses on certain contracts for goods and services with the county.
