Laurel College Standouts: RIT Dean's List, Grove City College Play

Below, find a roundup of the latest honors, degrees, and extracurricular accomplishments from Laurel-area college students. Descriptions are courtesy of the institutions named and/or students' family members.

Rochester Institute of Technology: The following local residents made the Dean's List for the winter 2013 quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology:

  • Yawar Raza of Laurel, a third-year student in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
  • Catherine Turner of Laurel, a second-year student in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.

Rochester Institute of Technology is internationally recognized for academic leadership in computing, engineering, imaging science, sustainability, and fine and applied arts, in addition to unparalleled support services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. RIT enrolls 17,500 full- and part-time students in more than 200 career-oriented and professional programs, and its cooperative education program is one of the oldest and largest in the nation.

Grove City College: Anna Kitchin, a junior at Grove City College, played a role in the College's recent production of "Measure for Measure." The Shakespearean comedy was presented on campus from March 7-9, 2013. Kitchin, who is from Laurel, played the role of Isabella.
