Prince George's County Issues Closures Announcement

Advisory begins Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Due to potential inclement weather, all Prince George's County Public Schools' afternoon and evening activities are cancelled. This includes evening high school, says the system's website.

The Weather Channel says that Prince George's County is under a freezing rain advisory from 7 tonight until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service forecasts ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible Tuesday night, with the overnight low hovering right at the freezing mark. Rain should end by 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Untreated roads and sidewalks could become slippery from ice. Travel might be difficult. Be prepared for slippery roads and use caution while driving.

Look for a high of 48 on Wednesday, with more rain, and a low of 22. High temperatures drop to the mid-30s for the rest of the week, the Weather Service says, with a 30 percent chance of snow again on Saturday.
