2012 Geek Squad Summer Academy

Are you into technology? Do you want to learn more about computers and video games? Are you eager to gain some great leadership opportunities and experiences this summer in some ways you've never though possible?

We have the program for you! During this two-day program, Best Buy's Geek Squad Summer Academy will teach you, in a fun, interactive learning environment, about the latest technology in classes such as PC Hardware, Digital Photography, Digital Video and Digital Music. During the Geek Squad Summer Academy event, you will build friendships through team-building activities such as building computers and collaborating on projects.WHO: Students age 9 -18

Student will be exposed to:
• PC Hardware: Students will learn about the ins and outs of computer components in a hands-on learning environment. During this class, they will build a computer and learn several hardware troubleshooting techniques.
• Digital Video: Students will showcase their creative skills while learning some cool video editing and special effect techniques, such as green screen, visual and voice effects.
• Digital Photography: Students will learn how to creatively improve picture taking moments by learning advanced digital photography techniques to improve picture quality and enhance pictures.
• Digital Music: Students will learn how to utilize Apple's Garage Band, a music program that will allow students to create their own music utilizing instruments while learning voice effects and tempo controls.
• Activities: At Geek Squad Summer Academy, we take fun seriously by providing activities such as digital scavenger hunts and playing with the latest console gaming titles on the Xbox 360 Kinect and Wii systems.
