2012 Maryland Half Marathon

The Maryland Half Marathon is a challenging race with 100% of net proceeds benefitting The University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center. The first Maryland resident to cross the Maryland Half Marathon finish line will be awarded The County Cup.

New to the 2012 race is Dozer’s Dash, an eight-mile leg within the Maryland Half Marathon named in honor of Dozer the Dog, a Goldendoodle who made national news after accidentally joining the runners in the 2011 Maryland Half Marathon. Dozer’s Dash will begin at the five-mile mark within the half marathon course during the race and male and female runners having the lowest split times in this leg of the half marathon will be awarded medals of honor and named Top Dog of Dozer’s Dash.

Dogs will be permitted on the race sidelines and post-race festival – as long as they’re accompanied by an owner and on a leash. For the safety of the animals and those running in the race, dogs will NOT be allowed to run on the course during the race.
