What's Hot This Summer at Modell's?
Games, slides, and cooling towels are selling well at the chain's Laurel store.
Modell’s seeks to be a one-stop summer hub for Laurel shoppers, offering a wide range of sporting goods, beach items, clothing, and other hot-weather gear.
Patch caught up with Modell’s assistant manager Jenny Albino to find out what some of the hottest sellers are heading into the summer.
“The Memorial Day sale really got things going here, with slides, sandals and cargo shorts really selling well,” Albino said.

The store has an entire “Summer Shop” set up inside the store, featuring coolers, thermoses, shade canopies, tank tops, beach toys, squirt guns, Frisbees, lawn games, pool toys and more.
“Cornhole—that bean bag toss game—has been very popular with shoppers as well,” Albino shared.

Cooling towels, a newer product made from a special material that retains a low temperature for up to two hours, are often sought after by Laurel shoppers.
“On the weekends, we have sidewalk sales with music, fun things to do and great sales on summer merchandise," Albino added.
Modell’s is running a sale on polo shirts and cargo shorts through June 9, but Albino suggests that people check their Sunday newspaper or Modell’s website for the latest summer deals.
