Laurel Police To Hold Summer Camp

Annual youth program starts Aug. 13.

The Laurel Police Department will engage city youth this summer through its annual Cop’s Camp program.

The camp will kick off Aug. 13 and run through Aug. 17. Participants will be taught some of the skills learned by officers in a police academy. They will also observe K-9 and SWAT demonstrations, police motorcycles and a variety of other demonstrations.

Camp participants are ages 6 thorugh 12. The camp will be held at the Laurel Lakes Gude Park with the exception of one day, which will be held at the Laurel Municipal Pool on Main Street.
