Community Day

• Description: Food, games and prizes for the whole family.

PEP Back To School Kickball Party

• Where: 3805 Lawrence St., Colmar Manor
• When: Saturday, Aug. 17, 12 p.m.
• Description: Back to school kickball party. School supplies, local artists, motivational speakers and county officials will be present. Free food and entertainment. 
• Cost: Free

CPW Crab Feast

• Where: College Park Woods Swim Club – 3545 Marlbrough Way
• When: Friday, Aug. 16, 9 a.m. 
• Description: Crab Feast with sides and drinks. 
• Cost: $45

Extravadance Open House

• Where: 103 Washington Blvd., Laurel
• When: Saturday, Aug. 17, 10 a.m. 
• Description: Free classes and registration for upcoming 2013-2014 Dance Program for both kids and adults. Those who sign up at the open house receive 30% off registration fee.
• Cost: Free

Bowie Town Center Readies for Back-to-School

• Where: Bowie Town Center – 15606 Emerald Way, Bowie
• When: Friday, Aug. 16, 3 p.m. 
• Description: Children are invited to participate in fun craft activities and giveaways while shopping for the latest in back-to-school fashions. In the evening Bowie Town Center will present Friday Night Live with special musical guest Andrea Pais outside on the Food Court Lawn. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy the show on the grassy area near the performance stage.

Broadway in Revue

• Where: Charis Center for the Arts – 13010 8th St., Bowie
• When: Friday, Aug. 16, 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 17, 1 p.m.
• Description: Music lovers are invited to enjoy the sounds and sights of favorite Broadway Musical at this end of summer performance. This Revue features old favorites and new wonders. 
• Cost: $5

Fun Day Carnival

• Where: Pointer Ridge Swim and Racquet Club
• When: Saturday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. 
• Description: Family fun day carnival and community yard sale. Moon bounce, face painting, games, prizes and food. Tickets for sale for activities.
• Cost: Free

Summer Concert /Jim Morris

• Where: 9605 Old Laurel-Bowie Rd., Bowie
• When: Sunday, Aug. 18, 2 p.m. 
• Description: Jim Morris & The Little Bamboo Band will perform. Sandwich and chips provided, bring your own chairs. 
• Cost: $10 per person or $20 per carload.
