1/2 I researched House of Dubs, and several other places while looking for a reputable, professional place to tint my car. It turns out that they are neither. You’d think that a place with an expensive looking website and an expensive looking establishment would get the job done right the first time. Wrong. I’m sorry I didn’t go with any of the other places...

I dropped off my car one day to have it tinted to 20%, and 4 hours later (they were apparently busy) I returned that evening and found several things; they (unbeknownst to me at the time) put 35% instead of 20% on, there were bubbles in the film, and the film wasn’t cut properly in one place leaving a gap. All of this suggested a rushed job, which was also made evident by the windex bottle left in the back seat of my car. I wouldn’t have minded waiting an extra few hours, even the next business day if it would’ve meant a clean, proper job, but they didn’t bother to call to ask, and instead opted for i guess hoping that the customer wasn’t going to notice...

Nevertheless, since this was my first time having my car tinted i was skeptical that it was the requested 20, and questioned the bubbles. The rep "Kevin" assured me that it was 20, said that it would "darken up" over the next few weeks, and that the bubbles would disappear, so i left. I waited a week to roll down my windows (just to be sure) and waited almost another 3 weeks before finally returning to the shop for (see part 2/2)

2/2 my money back, and the tint removed. After returning to pick my car, i found the ceiling upholstery near the back window in EVEN WORSE shape then I left it despite pointing out its previous state of disrepair and asking for special care taken. But most infuriating was the now peeling upholstery on EACH SIDE OF THE REAR WINDOW. Thankfully the defroster lines were all still intact.... I unfortunately noticed this only when I got home and frankly, would a shop that’s done this much damage offer to fix this properly if I did bring it back? I’m guessing not...

I’m left with a car which needs 4x the upholstery work to be done, a wash from all the runny water and windex left on the car, and would strongly urge anyone to consider going to another shop to have your car windows tinted. Seriously... Any other place.... But if you don’t take my word for it, just be prepared, and thoroughly inspect your car when you go to pick it up..
