Montpelier Mansion is a National Historic Landmark sitting on 70 acres of stunning parkland. The mansion was originally the main house of a huge plantation, and was built between 1781 and 1785. Major Thomas Snowden and his wife Anne were the original owners of Montpelier Mansion. They welcomed many distinguished guests into their home, including George Washington and Abigail Adams. Some rooms have been furnished as they would have appeared from the end of the 18th century until 1830. A boxwood-lined pathway runs through the garden to the original 18th century summer house.

Today, Montpelier Mansion is open for tours and can also be rented for weddings, receptions, luncheons and meetings.
