Human garbage. Money for drugs . . . throw away the key after they lock their cell . . . their cellRead More with no toilet.
Sam from Laurel July 23, 2014 at 03:19 pm
Is it me or should there be more to this story??? I remember when you could pick up a news paper andRead More actually read news. I guess now if it's over 150 characters it's to much information.

I'm not defending these people by no means but it is so hard dealing with one autistic person andRead More for them to deal with two? In NJ once a person reaches 21 they are aged out of the "system". What happens when autistic children become adults? No programs for parent of autistic adults, no help! Nobody unless you have experienced it yourself understands............ People who are parents of autistic adults needs tons of help, they become desperate because they don't have any options.

Chrissy, do spiders cause you to become apoplectic? I imagine they woke her from her 81 degree oven.Read More What are you fretting over? The poor woman had no one to annoy with her racist rants for five hours?
Pam J July 23, 2014 at 02:37 pm
I think people are jumping to conclusions here. He apparently parked in a parking garage. Granted,Read More five hours is too long and he should just be considered a bad son, but he really didn't do anything illegal. Sure she was incoherent when the police first questioned her. She's 98 years old and was asleep when they started questioning her. How many of us make a lot of sense when we first wake up? My 83-year-old is just now complaining about being cold and I have the airconditioning turned up to 78. Older people can deal with heat a little better, apparently. I bet the mother was doing just fine until the "good" citizen decided she wasn't. But it's good that they called her son.

Maybe he was trying to let her die so he could collect insurance for his gambling debts. When theseRead More folks are hooked, they will hurt anyone.

Mike July 23, 2014 at 08:57 am
And once again, that's the best surveillance footage they can provide?? In this day and age ofRead More high-def and the highest resolution cameras in history, and this is the best they can do. Sad. My suggestion?....hidden eye-level, high-definition cameras throughout the store, at the register and exit, and third party monitoring. These creeps would have been met by law enforcement in the parking lot or shortly after.

Not defending the cop, but why did Harvey stop his vehicle and get out and approach, no contact wasRead More made with vehicles, he should of just kept going. You, me and every person has cut someone off at some point in our driving years, whether it was by accident or purpose, you and everyone has done it. I know that intersection, it's a weird left turn and sometimes you can accidentally cut someone off which enrages the other person, Harvey should of ignored it moved on. Approaching a vehicle after something like that happens means you are looking for trouble, the cop should of kept going also. 2 egos who wanted fight after a Stupid game of Cat and Mouse and ends with one Dying. Ridiculous
Eddie Baier July 22, 2014 at 07:54 pm
If I remember correctly, the Sunpaper article, just after the incident, said that Harvey Jr. exitedRead More his vehicle with a weapon.
Toni Adams Reese July 22, 2014 at 10:18 pm
Joe Harvey did not have a weapon Moron - Sunpaper did not say that. Killed in cold blood - afterRead More Walker's ten different stories about what happened - he still killed in cold blood. Too bad MD won't fry or inject killers anymore - this dude deserves it

The Lawyers are the ones that will get 40% of that settlement. The Hospitals premiums will go up andRead More that cost will be absorbed by everyone who has insurance.. There was no harm to anyone, and I understand no ones face was seen in any of the pictures. So if you are in the middle class and see your health insurance premiums go up once again thank the trial lawyers. Funny how they can get away with it in a country where the laws are written by lawyers.... Kind of like "Hershey's" writing the dietary requirements, really doesn't make sense. .

Okay you're right. But we aren't in the 70's and 80's now. So we have to deal with today's problemsRead More now. What would you have us do? Just ignore it? The drugs weren't so available then. Today you can walk down any city street and buy what you want. Sorry but I want my kids where I can keep an eye on them. You bring the children into the world then your are the one that should be held accountable for their safety.
Kelly July 23, 2014 at 04:51 pm
Well, for one, we don't criminalize the parent. The energy and expense put in to locking up thisRead More mother could have been better spent locking up the druggie or the pedofile we are trying to protect these children from. Give the mother a warning. Maybe require her to take a parenting class on child safety. Admittedly, if the circumstances were different, like an infant or toddler left in a hot car, I would be singing a different tune. In those cases, I support much, much harsher penalties. That said, at what age do we say it's okay for a parent to leave their child in a car alone? Is it 7 or 12 or 17? We are responsible for their safety until they are 18, right?
Igor July 23, 2014 at 05:11 pm
Some of these kids I would say 30-35. LOL. I agree with everything that you say. I would say a lotRead More depends on the child. One of mine would have been okay at 8 the other 18. I think around 10 would be good. But I would start out slow. Maybe for 10 minutes and progress if they show signs that they could handle it.

Children r NOT Mexican. They r from several countries and ! city that is the murder capital of theRead More world. The drug cartels would not exist if Americans didn't love illegal drugs. I am involved in 20 animal right organizations. I work a lot and Iam not set-up for children. Some of these orphans were going to Westminster and I had planned to see if I could volunteer an hour or so, as needed. Many r babies in diapers. Because of death threats, I do not believe Westminster is getting any orphans (or Balt). May I ad, I never desired to have children, but I wish no human nor animal had to. I realize this idealistic, but we could be kinder people as my religion dictates.I believe as Christians ,we should walk-the-walk and not just talk.If u feel,u have given ,I am not judging u and others. I merely am requesting, a calm attitude while authorities do their work. Recently, the Pope has requesting Catholics, to produce more children. This greatly upsets me. I am in favor of reducing the world population, except for people who really want children, With 97 % o f pregnancies unplanned (or unwanted),we can work on this problem. These r not children brought here by illegal parents They have no parents.Bad people told their relatives, that for a fee ,they would deliver them to the US ,who will accept them. They were scammed AND THEIR COUTRIES R TRYING to spread the word, there is no open acceptance for them here.

This situation is very sad! While I completely side with the victim and his family that the blink isRead More a strong indicator he identified correct suspect, I find it very difficult to interfere with someone's rights. Fingers crossed that additional evidence in the case can support guilt so that the defendant gets his sentence fairly.

Michael asks a very good question. Tragic to see the good die young. I know of no one happy thatRead More two young girls died that night. But we need to regain the concept, as a society, of holding people responsible for their own actions. A train derailed in a place where it belonged that should have been unoccupied. The girls where occupying a place they didn't belong. As fate would have it, sadly, on that night it was the same place at the same time. I can't place fault with CSX.

Trespassing would be climbing the eight foot railroad fence---bagging the railroad security cameras,Read More hiding from the railroad lookout towers, and outrunning the two railroad cops in the state. There has to be deterrants not some sheriff going yap-yap-yap when the railroads pull his strings. Negligient homicide would be letting the track conditions to be DEADLY while paying company brass millions a year.
Pete Grosso July 17, 2014 at 10:24 pm
Trespassing would be being on tracks at any location other than a crossing or station platform,Read More which Ellicott City is not. If they had been under the bridge walking on public sidewalks and the train derailed, killing them, then no that's negligence on the Railroad. But walking out onto a narrow bridge, where a person has no business being, is trespassing and is negligent on the violator.
