A federal judge sentenced Mohammad Hassan Khalid of Ellicott City to five years in prison for aiding a group of people who were planning terror attacks in Europe. File|Patch
Steven Spiegel April 19, 2014 at 07:16 am
I heard it all associating with the terrorist group was like a video game . This young man should beRead More sentenced for the same amount of time as the rest . Know he can get out of prison with a bad taste in his mouth and blow up some Americans . After 911 there should be no deals made with terrorists .
Bryan Harz April 19, 2014 at 09:06 am
Hopefully he gets deported back to Pakistan after he gets out of jail.
Howard County Chief of Police William McMahon
MG42 April 18, 2014 at 07:41 am
The Halloween shooting back in 2009, a seemingly slam dunk case, remains unsolved. Also, severalRead More botched SWAT raids leaving 3 family dogs dead were on his watch. Good riddance, loser.
Jason Keyes April 18, 2014 at 06:12 pm
After he lied about their having DUI quotas, I've had no trust in McMahon. Even after their quotasRead More were outed in a public court, he was denying it.

Attempted Kidnapping will bring the F.B.I. every time.
Dudeindacorner April 17, 2014 at 06:46 pm
And FYI... forcing the manager into an office then making him tote the cash out to the robbers van?Read More = Kidnapping
Clayton King April 18, 2014 at 11:01 am
And don't attempted murder bring in the FBI? I dunno but if the guy who shot the manager as he wasRead More driving off seems that's attempted murder js
Marcus Aurelius April 17, 2014 at 07:02 am
it is good thing we can all just get stoned now, or take prescription drugs and drive, ever noticeRead More none of these are ever outside FOP lodges ????
Paul Hahn April 17, 2014 at 07:08 am
What does "alcohol related" mean? If I've been drinking over the limit and I'm legallyRead More stopped at a red light and a sober driver smashes into my car, is that "alcohol related"?
Paul Hahn April 17, 2014 at 07:13 am
Duh, I just did a search and found my answer. If either driver has had anything to drink at all, itRead More is "alcohol-related." Also, if a sober driver hits a drunk pedestrian walking on the sidewalk, it is "alcohol-related." So "alcohol-related" doesn't necessarily mean an accident that was caused by drinking. It is basically a useless statistic.
A man walking his bike on a Laurel street swung it at an armed robber to prevent a theft. File|Patch
Kim Cooke April 16, 2014 at 05:04 pm
Well done!
Marcus Aurelius April 17, 2014 at 07:06 am
Must be one of those tea party members again, right democrats? Someone tell me again why I can'tRead More carry in Maryland like they can in 37 other states. Now remember we have passed 25,000 gun laws in this country already and for some odd reason criminals will just not obey the law, strange huh? I am sure he had a licensed handgun and it only had 7 bullets or less in it.
August London Lane April 18, 2014 at 10:39 am
OMG..I am famous.. This was me. I swung the bike and wanted to get him in a hold and then get hisRead More gun... For the most part pretty accurate details, all but..... He was the one swinging(like a fool that cant fight and by the way he didn't try and fight the other guy that was NOT carrying a bunch of crap) I was swatting his hands cuz i had like 3 bags on me. When i dropped them to start his career ending beating he took off . LIL punk is lucky my back is all jacked up or he would have a mongoose tattoo on his forehead then the handle bars shoved up his ...well you know. Hope he reads this. cuz next time Ill be prepared..GO laurel. just when i thought getting outta PG county was a good idea. Side note. IF You gotta gun ..USE it.... And yes i chased him yelling dumb shit like, sounding like a douche. He brought a gun to a LIFE fight. Btw i am broke as a joke. So i don't know if i was courageous or stupid. ADRENALINE is hella thing. Peace love and get a job.

Marcus Aurelius April 17, 2014 at 07:57 am
But we can get stoned now, makes perfect sense !! You could always just drive like responsibleRead More people and keep your speed safe, there are thousands of people missing limbs or worse wishing they never were involved in a crash by either there own fault or the result of some balloon knot, Thanks for keeping us safe officers
Alicia Murphy April 17, 2014 at 05:26 pm

runymede April 13, 2014 at 08:03 am
This is a terrible tragedy but I don't consider Bethesda as a Baltimore suburb but a WashingtonRead More suburb. Why should this story get a mention on this site ?
ladypoet April 14, 2014 at 01:14 pm
Catch him and do the same as he did to his family. This was such a heinous crime. Who could killRead More your own mother, children and the mother of your children? A no good demon!
Patrick Carter April 14, 2014 at 02:29 pm
Find him and fry him. He should die regardless of his age. Italy probably won't help because of theRead More Amanda Knox case. I say govt should put a hit on him.
A Prince George's County teen was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the shooting death of a rival gang member following a January 2013 birthday party. File|Patch

So according to national records, Martin Owemalley says the death penalty does not work, but 50Read More years times $40,000.00 a year comes to the tune of $2,000,000.00. That is two million for the low information people, so this criminals life is worth 2 million, yet his victim is pushing up daises, execute this thing now, cremate his carcass and put him in a port a potty where he belongs.

Will someone please help Robert find his medications?
Justin case April 11, 2014 at 11:15 am
He probably retired from the state department under an alias. They didn't even notice he was missingRead More for an entire week so I'm sure they wouldn't notice if he came back to work as Juan Rodriguez or some other alias. Bunch of idiots. The FBI must finally be sick of this guy embarrassing them for 38 years
Pam Hamburg April 11, 2014 at 04:40 pm
Your government agencies at work....HA! But cops can get away with beating an unarmed or mentallyRead More challenged or mentally ill person to DEATH. What a world.

Big momma must be really proud of this idiot.
Marcus Aurelius April 17, 2014 at 07:17 am
Wow, this is man should be easy to catch, chances are good, he is already on parole, has a criminalRead More record and should never have been released early from whatever sentence he is supposed to be doing.
Steven Spiegel April 11, 2014 at 05:39 am
Yeah they will do 5 and be right back to the same ole same ole.
My Opinion April 11, 2014 at 09:31 am
"Surveillance video in the area took footage of the possible suspects using the victim’sRead More credit cards." Not really the main part of the story, but can the place that the possible suspect used the cards at, get in trouble for not checking ID with the credit card?
Marcus Aurelius April 17, 2014 at 07:21 am
Ah yes District Heights and Landover Hills, two of the largest toilets in the state, nothing butRead More Obamavoters living off the backs of everyone else, all educated by democrats. You democrats really do a fine job raising your criminals to be productive members of society.

Marcus Aurelius April 9, 2014 at 07:59 am
Lets all just be happy this did not turn out worse, and lets get to the facts before jumping toRead More conclusions, yes leaving the bus unattended we know is wrong, but did a child put the bus in gear? etc... Man seams to have done his job very well for years and years.

Marcus Aurelius April 9, 2014 at 07:18 am
Wow this man has some serious guts to pull this one off, hope they get him soon, offer a largeRead More reward and his own family will turn him in!!
erikb.prestbury April 9, 2014 at 12:10 pm
He is not a bank robber. He is probably desperate to pay back the drug money he owes to his dealer.Read More The dealer(s) are likely the cause of the eye patch, from an earlier confrontation, and have threatened to kill him if he doesn't get their money asap. This looks like a move of pure desperation, not a well thought out and cased plan.

There's a group of wonderful volunteers in Philly that run a emergency relief team for animalsRead More involved in house fires. They do fantastic work, and ask the public for help with transport and donations to help offset the medical costs. I honestly believe this is something that should be offered in all counties in every state. That is something Red Paw would LOVE to see! http://redpawemergencyreliefteam.com/

And for those who can't afford to care for their pets there are programs and organization out thereRead More that try to do what they can and help supplement food and find discounted care. Luna's House has a food pantry and NoKillHarford is just starting to get going but are looking to offer subsidies. (Both are located in Harford County) And I know most low income families can't get credit cards or don't want to use them, Care Credit is not a regular credit card. It's for use for medical care INCLUDING our pets. You have to make sure your vet accepts the card and the payment plans they accept. Some only accept the 6 month plan. I have been fortunate to not need any of those services but I'm glad to know they are indeed out there. People just don't know and it's a shame

Robert Curry April 6, 2014 at 04:10 pm
All too frequently, police deliberately place themselves in front of occupied motor vehicles,Read More deliberately making themselves targets, so as to "Justify" using deadly force in otherwise minor incidents! I tend to believe that should I, a homeowner, find someone stealing from my garage and deliberately place myself in their escape path, to attempt justification of MY use of deadly force when they come towards ME as they try to escape, the police/court would probably say I should have "Stepped Aside" amd permitted the escape! WHY the double standard? Those that escape, usually go on to continue their crime spree against other victims! Citizens should be entitled to defend themselves and their property the same as police!
Mr. Mxyzptlk April 8, 2014 at 08:59 am
Robert, you have no idea what occurred yet you spent 11 lines of text to criticize the police, yetRead More not even a single word criticizing the criminal behavior in this case. Not a single word of well wishes to the inured police officer. Not a single word of thanks for the officers doing a dangerous job with no support from those in the community such as you. "Otherwise minor"? The police had no idea if the person fleeing had just injured or killed someone in that home. Just say, "Thank You."
Marcus Aurelius April 9, 2014 at 07:16 am
Thanks to all of you that protect us all everyday 24/7, and we are letting the politicians get a 16%Read More raise come on people force them to vote for it first and to "pay it forward" to those that protect us, not rule over us.

Marcus Aurelius April 7, 2014 at 07:12 am
Nice grouping!!! Thanks for keeping us safe officers!!!and the law makers are getting a 16% raiseRead More but cops have to fight for 2-3% ah the elite class we live in today.
