The bottom line is if these were grown adults no one would care they were shot, well sorry justRead More because they are teenagers does not make it any worst than if they were in their 50's. If roles were reversed and this elderly man broke into the teenagers home they would get a metal of honor if they shot him, same as he should for shooting them. I will teach my kids you threaten someones life you will be lucky if you leave the situation alive.
Bowie Thelonius April 24, 2014 at 11:03 am
So because these two idiots were "popular" high school students this guy is charged withRead More murder? They broke into his home and invaded his sanctuary. I'd have have shot them myself. Two less future criminals.
Bowie Thelonius April 24, 2014 at 11:04 am
Oh yeah, home invasion is a crime. Too bad they didn't know that.

Buck Harmon April 24, 2014 at 09:07 am
You have not made a point Roger...typical liberal dumbed down comment though. What exactly IS yourRead More point here?

Michael - the "progeny" vs. "prodigy" was an example that I was using for theRead More whole board here (or any other board). No, your post was fine and obviously I didn't misunderstand you. I was aiming that more at a lot of folks whom I truly can't understand. You just happened to be lucky enough to misuse a word and then accuse people of not comprehending what they're reading. As far as labelling me/us as woman-haters, again that was aimed at a few other people. And actually, if I am a troll, I just troll for the opportunity to rip on people for using sweeping generalities.

Madam Secretary how'd that Arab Spring work out for you in Egypt? How'd that reset with Russia andRead More Putin work out for you and your boss? And most notable how'd that screw up in Benghazi where 4 Americans died as a result of your inept attention to detail occurred? Well I Guess you could be admired for flying around the World for 4 years and accomplishing... well .. nothing all but frequent Flier Miles all the while bring back that '70s style with the Pantsuit. this "to me" is not funny, the swat teams are used for serious issues, hostage taking,Read More etc. to have a swat team called to a home behind a video game is stupid, these swat members are trained to save lives, etc. to be called to a home behind a video game is not funny, what happens if a REAL call comes in and swat is needed there, I hope they catch the idiot that called swat and he gets what he/she deserves

with caller ID they should be able to point to the caller. Sorry but an out of state telephoneRead More number should be a tip off.

The caller used Skype, via the Internet, and will probably never be found if he took certainRead More precautions unless he's running his mouth about this prank.

This guy is sick and needs to be taken out of society forever. Only a coward takes advantage of aRead More disabled person who cannot defend herself. Lock him up and throw the key in the Chesapeake. There is no rehabilitation for a sexual predator. He will continue to be a cowardly sexual predator if left on the streets. If he tries that stuff in prison, he will be signing his death certificate. The inmates are gonna punish him just for being the twisted pervert he is, regardless if he tries it on them. Say hello to protective custody you sicko. He deserves a good throat slashing and feces rubbed into the wounds for maximum infection!!!
Diane in Odenton April 23, 2014 at 12:20 pm
"After the complaints, drivers underwent more training on how to deal with the public."Read More This sounds absolutely absurd to me. You have to TRAIN the drivers to not sexually assault their disabled passengers??!!
sonia stewart April 23, 2014 at 07:54 pm
So sorry for this woman and her family. I'm glad she had a family to help her report this. It'sRead More terrible that this person was entrusted to assist a disabled person who's trying to enjoy a bit of independence to get around and do things that we take for granted everyday. Hopefully she can recover. Very sad.

Everyday Mathematics is just one of the programs that makes a heck of a lot of $ off of the millions of textbooks sold to schools that teach to the 'Core.' The Common Core isn't just restricting for teachers & students, it's lining people's pockets.
Jennifer April 24, 2014 at 08:53 am
So Cow Dung, Gary has said it all in a much more straight-forward way. Everything he says is true,Read More and the information can be found, and checked, in MANY places. Just NOT on the Common Core website.
Jennifer April 24, 2014 at 09:00 am
Why do I have a problem with the Gates foundation? I think I said it before. They funded theRead More organizations that wrote the standards. They funded the organizations that reviewed the standards. They fuinded every group that supposedly had "input" into the development of the standards. There is NO record of what the "input" consisted of, or if any of it was implemented. All we really have on record is the Content advisor for Mathematics, Jim Milgrim, prof. at Stanford, explaining why he refused to endorse the math standard. We have the English Language content advisor, Sandra Slotsky, explaining why she, likewise, could not sign off on the standards. And she explains that she has sat on many such committees before, in her role in developing Massachussetts very well-respected standards, and she said that this is the first time she was required to sign a non-disclosure. She said such committees are usually subject to "Sunshine" laws. These are specific people, highly qualified people, giving specific and detailed testimony. But you would rather keep pointing to the CC website vaguely referring to "how educators were involved".
Jennifer April 24, 2014 at 09:39 am
I looked at the Wisconsin link you provided, and it gave a list of teachers on an ELA standardsRead More leadership team. This was out of context, and undated, so I dont really have an indication that it had anything to do with reviewing the CC standards, but assuming you just didn't copy enough pages into the link.....thay could list every teacher in America, by name, school, and department. If there are no records of what, if any recommendations were made, leading to what if any changes to the standards, I dont really see what that would prove. And since, as I have said, teachers and administrators at the local level are presumably under a gag order - if their states have signed agreements similar to NY - I don't know how we can be expected to trust anything about the CC. As I have said, I have several friends from college and HS who have been teaching for 25 + yrs, and my sister-in-law is a Vice Principal at a highly-ranked school in a highly-ranked state - and they all, across the board, HATE the program and what it does to children. And you can read the standards, but you do not have access to the agreements the states have signed, and do not know what other , untried methods of teaching will be mandatory under the Core.

Netflix is hands down the best deal going, and it has been a bargain for YEARS. I guess theRead More nonsensical whiners who complain about a long-delayed, $2 a MONTH increase are worried it will cost them a (partial) SINGLE LATTE. Utterly ridiculous.

TO MICHAEL BRENNICK: Leftist, Democra... WHAT? You think Comcast is part of the so-calledRead More "liberal" media (which, by the way, doesn't even exist)? Are you freakin' KIDDIN' me? FOR THOSE WHO LIKE AMAZON PRIME OVER NETFLIX: Here's an interesting article from today (23 Apr 2014)Read More about how Amazon Prime just got HBO to stream at least some of its older content, plus "HBO GO," to Amazon's new Fire TV box, thereby making NetFlix upset because NetFlix (nor any other streaming service, including HULU) has never been able to get any HBO content; and so Amazon has scored a real coup! Seriously Thomas how sad to be your daughter. No one should ever be advised on committing suicide.Read More Mental health issues which are very under served and undiagnosed are a huge reason for bullying. And Mrs G the grandparent if a "disabled' child .. That too is archaic thinking. Having a 24 year old with special needs who is very successful I can tell you it wasn't by putting her in a box She has friends both with and without special needs. It takes a village to raise any child and if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then it is a duck. Let others see his you treat your special needs family members and they will follow suit. Awareness and education is key to success. I have over two decades of experience and living proof Inclusion WORKS if done appropriately for the individual.

Sorry, Autistic boy, but there are a multitude of crimes here. These so called 'friends' abused youRead More terribly ~ called 'bullying', & that alone cannot be tolerated. Then, there is animal cruelty involved, another terrible crime, plus, harassment of all kinds, leudness, & who knows what else. These 'friends' need to be charged & made aware of the seriousness of their deeds, punished accordingly & helped through proper mental councelling.

Sorry but people make choices, he made the choice to take the drugs. He obviously came from aRead More family that was well off and went to a good high school.
