A federal judge sentenced Mohammad Hassan Khalid of Ellicott City to five years in prison for aiding a group of people who were planning terror attacks in Europe. File|Patch
Steven Spiegel April 19, 2014 at 07:16 am
I heard it all associating with the terrorist group was like a video game . This young man should beRead More sentenced for the same amount of time as the rest . Know he can get out of prison with a bad taste in his mouth and blow up some Americans . After 911 there should be no deals made with terrorists .

Please liberate us from our oppressive State government, cyber warriors!!!
Don O'Neill April 18, 2014 at 05:24 pm
It sounds as though Senator Catherine Pugh is pining for a job in the private sector. Here is whatRead More she said: 1. “Our government doesn’t move as quickly as the private sector ... and the private sector isn’t moving as quickly as it should be,” Sen. Catherine Pugh, D-Baltimore, said in an interview. 2. “I look at the government from the perspective of a business,” Pugh said. “... What do want the state to look like three years from now? I don’t think we do enough of that kind of thinking and planning.” Let me identify some of the issues that Senator Catherine Pugh and her colleagues in Annapolis should be thinking about on behalf of the citizens of Maryland. 1. Stop pretending that Maryland is the leader in state Health Care web sites. 2. Stop pretending that Maryland is the center of excellence for Cyber Security. 3. Stop pretending that the Chesapeake Bay is clean. 4. Stop pretending that Maryland's soft position on marijuana is supported by its citizens. 5. Stop contemplating the use of fracking. 6. Stop wasting time and money on Bond Bill earmarks. 7. Stop sweeping the Baltimore City prison scandal under the rug. 8. Stop pretending that Maryland is winning the jobs race with Virginia. 9. Stop pretending that Maryland has an adult candidate for Governor. 10. Stop pretending that Governor O'Malley is viable candidate for President.

Any word on where the baby's mom was ?
tamarya April 18, 2014 at 09:04 pm
This is what happens when we don't teach teenagers in high school to grow up and be adults. TheyRead More turn into their 20's and have kids and treat their kids the way they treated other classmates in school. Time these people grow up. Starting at 16 you are not a baby and definatly at 24 you are not.

The Halloween shooting back in 2009, a seemingly slam dunk case, remains unsolved. Also, severalRead More botched SWAT raids leaving 3 family dogs dead were on his watch. Good riddance, loser.
Jason Keyes April 18, 2014 at 06:12 pm
After he lied about their having DUI quotas, I've had no trust in McMahon. Even after their quotasRead More were outed in a public court, he was denying it.

NO -----SHE DESERVES WHAT SHE GOT..- She STABBED STABBED STABBED..she should have gotten the deathRead More penalty.....but michigan has only life in prison. Don't have sympathy for her just because she's a woman. She's a cold blooded killer and deserves what she got.
RON Ostrodamus April 19, 2014 at 03:11 am
The death penalty certainly cuts down on the record number of incarcerations in America. Enough ofRead More this liberal crap on humane punishment. The word "humane' never enters the minds of these cold blooded killers. What is going to happen if another bombing takes place outside of Texas? What is going to happen with the next airplane hijacking, or Boston?

Don, the comments were made at sentencing, not at trialso it hss no bearing on her conviction.

I agree with MG42. POTUS is set for life. Former Presidents rake in millions long after they'veRead More served. How do you know the CEO's of private companies aren't giving much of their income away? But it sounds like Fran wants to take it away by force.
CeeCee April 18, 2014 at 03:43 pm
PEOPLE...there are 300,000 people in our neighboring state who still can't drink their water as theRead More result of a CEO "sitting on his ass" making arbitrary decisions or ignoring obligations to the community and regarding all of US as nothing more than collateral damage. And paying taxes? LOL, as if. There was a time in this country (1950s-60s) when small businesses didn't make their owners rich, but fulfilled and happy; and big businesses paid taxes and their CEOs made only 30 times more than the average salary of the company employees. CEOs can have a great idea 24/7/365 but very few are responsible for bringing it to fruition ALL BY THEMSELVES! Businesses were set up to be economic entities beholden to the communities they operate in and serve. Instead wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony--the seven deadly sins--which are also exhibited in some of the comments above and sure to follow--have turned our country as well as our planet into a trash heap making US scavengers, ruthless, destitute, vile and/or sad.
Life April 18, 2014 at 04:52 pm
Cee Cee, all big businesses started as SMALL businesses! Now if a CEO and his board agree toRead More compensate him/her multi millions, who are we to bash them? That's their right as a private company. If you don't like it, then boycott the company. That's your right. And let me ask you: When was the last time you paid half of your income in taxes? Do you know that for every dollar a business owner makes, he has to set aside half of it for Uncle Sam??? My guess is that you've never truly run your own business. If you did, it would change you.

Kevin, I know what entrapment is: inducing someone to commit a crime that the person wouldn'tRead More otherwise commit. It may not be entrapment, but that is because the person refilling his drink may have been unaware that it was not permitted, and therefore did not knowingly commit a crime. Just out of curiosity, when did you develop the amazing ability to read people's mind so that you could ascertain that "in all likelihood, the guy knew the refills were not free"?

First of all, READ the article not parts of it! It took place in a FEDERAL BLDG, not in a localRead More restaurantI You don't know the real reason his fine was so high..maybe he refilled his .89 cup more than he's admitting or they're making an example out of him.
