Laurel police continue to search for a man who attempted to rob a BB&T Bank on Main Street Monday morning around 9:30 a.m. According to police, the man entered the bank and handed a note to a teller demanding money but was unable to collect and fled the scene. Does Mayor Craig Moe have a bone to pick with Baltimore Gas and Electric after its performance during Hurricane Irene? During last night's council meeting, Moe stated his dissatisfaction with power outages in the city. "I was not real happy with their performance," he said. "There was a lack of communication in my view. ... They should have been better prepared." 1. Did a scheduling mishap for a Laurel City Council meeting leave residents shut out during a public hearing? The Laurel City Council held its monthly meeting this week, and while elected officials and staff were in attendance, several residents who wanted to speak on an impending 7-11 development on Marshal Avenue said they received wrong information about the meeting time. During the summer, the council changed meeting times from 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. But the time change was not posted to the city's website or meeting board infront of the building before the meeting.
