UPDATE: Thousands Donated for Crystal Benton's Funeral Costs

A fundraising effort is also under way for two other victims of the crash that fatally injured Benton.

Update, Nov. 21: A separate fundraiser is underway to cover the funeral costs of Brittney Marie Ziegler, 21, of Pasadena and her three-year-old daughter, Lilly Renee Gross. According to police, Ziegler and Gross were riding in the southbound lane of Marley Neck Boulevard when 30-year-old Joseph Allen Oliver Jr. of Glen Burnie attempted a northbound lane change, crossing the double yellow line in a no-passing zone. The two vehicles collided head-on, fatally injuring all four occupants. As of 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the fundraiser on Ziegler and Gross's behalf had collected $6,176 of its $10,000 goal. More tragic? Seriously? She wasn't the driver and thus had no control over the jerk who was. All that died in this tragedy, that was gut wrenching just reading the accounts of the accident. Have a heart.   more ›

Laurel Resident Among Four Killed in Glen Burnie Crash

Three adults and one child suffered fatal injuries when their vehicles collided Sunday afternoon on Marley Neck Boulevard.

Four people—including one Laurel resident—suffered fatal injuries Sunday afternoon when their cars collided in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County police said. According to a statement from the AAPD, emergency personnel were called to the scene of an accident on Marley Neck Boulevard near Freeman Shores Lane around 1:36 p.m. Responders found two mangled vehicles at the site, police said, each of which had been occupied by one driver and one passenger before the crash. All four individuals sustained incapacitating injuries and were pronounced dead on the scene.
