A dating-auction website claims that more than 2,500 men in the DC area already have done so.
Valentine's Day can be challenging for people with sweethearts. Trying to figure out the perfect gift can really be stressful. For singles, the day can be even more difficult, but a dating website with a twist aims to boil it all down to something just about everyone can understand—a straight monetary exchange. Apparently, it's a pretty attractive proposition in the DC area. WhatsYourPrice.com recently released the results of a study of singles that found that 369,282 men nationally made offers for first dates in the month leading up to Valentine's Day, with nearly 2,700 of them in the DC region. The new restaurant will feature authentic Mexican fare such as tacos al pastor, barbacoa and 100 percent agave margaritas.
With menu items such as flautas de puerco (pulled pork in crispy tortillas with pico de gallo), tacos al pastor and barbacoa enchiladas, it's hard not to get hungry thinking about Xitomate opening in Columbia. And we didn't even mention the $7 agave margaritas. Columbia's newest restaurant will have a soft opening for customers at the former location of Donna's (5850 Waterloo Road) on Wednesday. The new restaurant is owner Julio Soto's latest concept. Soto also owns Azul 17 and Lily's Mexican Market. Moreno said the food and drink offerings at Xitomate will be …

The exterior of the restaurant looked nearly complete last week, as workers adjusted the sign over the front entrance. Inside, the restaurant was still a work-in-progress. The bars were built, the dividers were up, but there was no floor, televisions, tables or computers. Dvorkin said those additions will be installed quickly once the floor is done, which a worker was installing on Tuesday. He said the whole building has been re-constructed, …

In the past, openings have reportedly included "lounge chairs, sleeping bags and pup tents."
Should Howard County decline to participate in the heydey that has characterized previous Wegmans store openings out of self respect? Blogger and Columbia Association Board Member Tom Coale raised the issue in his blog in response to reports from Explore Howard that said Wegmans officials expect thousands to congregate before the store's 7 a.m. Sunday (June 17) opening in Columbia at 8855 McGaw Road. In the past, openings have included "lounge chairs, sleeping bags and pup tents," the paper reported. Tell us in comments: Will you be lugging lounge chairs to be among the first the see the new Columbia Wegmans? Or do you think that is an unnecessary display? Coale's response? "I truly hope that my fellow HoCo'ers have the dignity and self-…
