Report: Three Tenants Confirmed for Laurel Towne Centre
Regal Cinemas, Harris Teeter and Burlington Coat Factory have all been confirmed as tenants, reports the Gazette.
Regal Cinemas and Harris Teeter will join Burlington Coat Factory at the new Towne Centre at Laurel, which is expected to open in May 2014, reports the Gazette. The $200 million development project, which broke ground in August 2012, will have 400,000 square feet of retail space and is expected to bring 1,000 to 1,500 new jobs to the area, city officials told the Gazette. Although only three tenants have signed on to the project, residents and city officials have expressed enthusiasm about the development. According to the Gazette, earlier this month the Laurel City Council said the city would issue up to $15.5 in million tax increment financing (TIF) bonds to help fund infrastructure improvements related to the project. I grew up in Laurel.. Cops run it like the Gestapo... Therefore.. No night life! The Montpilier Fest was one of the best fests around in the 70's and 80's.. It coulda been a main stay on the summer fest circuit.. I heard the city didn't want to back it... now wine fests from North Baltimore Co to Columbia are cant miss affairs.
