Laurel Park Draft Plan Includes Major Redevelopment, Possible Hotel

The Maryland Jockey Club is reviving plans for a major redevelopment of Laurel Park, The Baltimore Sun reports. In a draft capital improvement plan submitted to state officials last week, the MJC outlined some of the steps it hopes to take with the property over the next several years. The club is required to notify the Maryland Racing Commission and the state Office of Budget and Management of its plans in order to qualify for matching funds supported by the state's slot machine revenue.
