Eastern Connecticut State University: Nana Ama Owusu-Agyemang '13 of Laurel was one of nine students who was recently inducted into Eastern Connecticut State University's local chapter of Alpha Delta Sigma, the national honor society for advertising students. Owusu-Agyemang's major is Communication. The society recognizes students who have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, have a communication studies GPA of at least 3.25, are in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class, are enrolled in good standing and display a commitment to …

McDaniel College: Senior Mara Seibert of Laurel performs in McDaniel College's String Ensemble on Friday, May 3, 7 p.m., in Baker Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD. The following honors and degrees were recently earned by students from Laurel (as reported by their schools and family members): Denison University: Connor Ford, a Denison University student from Laurel, is studying off-campus for the spring 2013 semester. Ford, a member of the class of 2014, is studying with the College of Global Studies Program in Italy. Many of Denison's undergraduate students choose to broaden their horizons through off-campus study each semester. In these programs, students continue to receive full credit toward a Denison degree while pursuing diverse research or academic opportunities. The following academic honors and degrees were recently earned by students from Laurel (as reported by their schools and family members): Clark University: Amanda G. Palmer of Laurel has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2012 semester. To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79, of a maximum of 4.3. Frostburg State University: The following students from Laurel have been named to the dean's list at Frostburg State University in recognition of outstanding academic achievement for the fall 2012 semester.
