Police are searching for a missing Laurel resident who family members believe may have reason to harm himself. William Claude Winfrey III, 40, was last seen on March 21 at his home in the 13700 block of Virginia Manor Road in Laurel, according to Prince George's County police. Authorities said Winfrey, who suffers from diabetes, may also have access to firearms. Winfrey is described as a 5-foot, 8-inch white male weighing 250 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information on Winfrey's whereabouts is asked to call Prince George’s County Police at 301-937-0910.

Update, 1:25 p.m. Howard County police have identified the body found Sunday afternoon in North Laurel as that of 49-year-old Staci Marie Watkins. Foul play is not suspected, police said. An autopsy is pending. Original article: The body of a woman was found Sunday in the woods off of the 9000 block of U.S. Route 1 in North Laurel, authorities said. According to Howard County police, a man called 911 around 4 p.m. to report that he had seen the body while walking in the woods. Officials believe it may be that of a woman in her 40s reported missing several weeks ago by a friend. There were no obvious signs of foul play, police said, but an investigation is ongoing.

Police reported Friday night that evidence indicates her death was a suicide and no additional information will be released. 70-year-old Earman Lee Sessoms went missing earlier today in Lanham.
The Prince George's County Police Department is asking for members of the public to keep an eye out for Earman Lee Sessoms, a 70-year-old man who suffers from dementia and is in need of medication. According to police, Sessoms was last seen at his home in the 6100 block of Carter Avenue in Lanham at about 10 a.m. today. Sessoms, a black man with gray and brown hair, stands at about 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighs about 200 pounds, as was last seen wearing a gray shirt and gray pants. The public is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department at 301-3902101 or 301-390-2160 if they have information which could help authorities find Sessoms.

Police found a body in Macon, GA, near the apartment of a North Laurel woman missing since June 25.
Police in Macon, GA, found a body in downtown Macon in the search for Lauren Giddings, a missing North Laurel woman, reports the Baltimore Sun. The article says volunteers discovered a body this past weekend near Giddings's apartment complex. Giddings was reported missing June 25, and the Macon Police Department is actively pursuing an investigation into her disappearance. Giddings's family is from the Laurel area and she herself graduated from Atholton High School, the article says. EDITOR'S NOTE: Patch originally said the body was confirmed to be that of Lauren Giddings, which is what the original Sun article stated. It has since been corrected due to pending forensic testing.

UPDATED 6/27, 11:10 a.m. A 22-year-old Ellicott City man missing since Friday has been found dead in Baltimore, according to the Howard County Police Department. Salmaan Sultan had last been seen by his family on June 24, leaving his house on the 3500 block of Coventry Court Drive. His body was found Friday near a parking garage in Baltimore. There was no identification on him, and police did not initially know who he was, said Sherry Llewellyn, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department. Police confirmed his identity Monday morning. Sultan's death is being investigated as a suicide; a preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play, Llewellyn said.
