Police: Injured Teen Driver May Have Failed to Stop at Stop Sign

Jeffrey Conner Sinclair is still in critical condition.

Police say a teenage driver who is in critical condition from injuries sustained in a collision near Mt. Hebron High School Thursday may have failed to stop at a stop sign before driving out in front of a Mack truck. At about 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, police say Jeffrey Conner Sinclair, 18, was driving a Honda Civic out of a Mt. Hebron High School parking lot when he pulled out onto Route 99. Four teenagers were in the car with him, according to police. According to the preliminary report, police say Sinclair may have failed to stop at the stop sign exiting the school parking lot and did not yield to the right of way of the tree removal service truck, which was traveling westbound on Route 99.  The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old …

Teenager Critical After Collision Outside Ellicott City High School

An 18-year-old was taken to Shock Trauma and four other teenagers to Howard County General Hospital.

An 18-year-old Ellicott City student is in critical condition after a two-vehicle collision Thursday near Mt. Hebron High School, according to Howard County police.  Four other students were also injured in the collision, police said in a statement. Police say Jeffrey Conner Sinclair, 18, was driving a Honda Civic at about 2:20 p.m. The preliminary investigation suggests Sinclair pulled out of a Mt. Hebron parking lot directly into the path of a Mack Truck. According to police, also in the Civic were: Justyn Richard Alexander, 17, front seat; Michael Dennis Brooks, 15; Elisha Shannon Brown, 17; and Urek Ali Bradshaw, 16.  All four were taken to Howard County General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
