Here's a list of Howard County Government closings for the Monday holiday.
George Washington's birthday is Feb. 22, but ever since the Uniform Monday Holiday Bill in 1971, it has been celebrated on the third Monday of February. Still technically "Washington's Birthday," as far as the federal government is concerned, it has become known to many as the more generic "Presidents' Day" in many states, including Maryland. Gotta love our elected officials in DC. Just heard on the news, Congress is closed "for the week" for Presidents DAY! Must be that they have so little work to do in DC they deserve the week off and as Pelosi said, they deserve their pay solely because of the prestige of the job, not for their ability to do it.   more ›
