Police: Duo Records Rap Album Before Robbing Laurel Studio

The pair left behind a recording of their song, an apparent tribute to Chicago gang leader Larry Hoover.

Two men are accused of robbing a Laurel studio last week immediately after they'd recorded a rap album inside, ABC-2 News reports. The suspects had not been scheduled to record at Copy Catz Media (612 Lafayette Ave.), but authorities told the news channel that another group working at the studio let them into the building early Thursday morning. The duo then recorded a song—an apparent tribute to Chicago gang leader Larry Hoover—and left. They returned shortly with a gun, ABC-2 reports, and forced three other people in the studio to hand over valuables. Police are hoping that the recording, as well as surveillance video from the building, will help them locate the suspects. Read more and hear the song at ABC-2.
