UPDATE: Favorite St. Patrick's Day Spot Chosen

Readers picked their favorite spot for St. Patrick's Day.

UPDATE The people have spoken. And while it was a close race to choose where your favorite spot in Laurel for St. Patrick's Day is, Hooters took the crown capturing 60 percent of the vote. Sullivan's, a late entry in the contest, had been leading the pack most of the week but a last minute push by Hooters fans stole its thunder. The irish pub came in second, caputring just over 36 percent of the vote. See the results below. UPDATE: Readers Choose Their Favorite Gym

One gym left its competition in the dust.

The people have spoken. While the Laurel area has its share of gyms and fitness centers, readers overwhelming decided that one facitlity is a cut above the rest. Wellness For Life Center in West Laurel took top honors in the voter show down, outpacing the votes of all its competitors combined. Readers' Choice: Silver Diner

In a close race to crown Laurel's best breakfast spot, Silver Diner emerges victorious.

If the way to the heart is through the stomach, then our Patch readers have found the best place to grab a bite for breakfast. In our inaugural "Best of Patch" contest, 17 voters cast their ballots for the restaurant that was best suited for breakfast. And the winner is:The Silver Diner. Receiving 17 votes in the contest, the casual dining restaurant offers breakfast and lunch Monday through Sunday. Store manager Duyen Luong said that great food and service propelled the restaurant to its win. "I feel great," she said. "I think we have very awesome food.
