SPEAK OUT: Who Will You Root For in the NFL Playoffs?

Are the Ravens your team now?

The hearts of D.C. are broken and RGIII's knee might be too. But the playoff rolls on even if the Redskins don't. So we want to know what team you'll be rooting for to win the Super Bowl, or if you even care at all. (I mean, hockey's back just in time.) Will you be sporting purple to support the Maryland's other team, the Ravens? Who's your team now? Tell us in the comments.

VIDEO: Rushern Baker Makes Friendly Wager on Redskins-Seahawks Game

Rushern L. Baker III and King County Executive Dow Constantine have agreed to wear the opposing team's jersey in public if their team is not victorious Sunday.

Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker III is confident in his Washington Redskins. So confident that—after winning his bet against Howard County Executive Ken Ulman—he's taking his football wagering across the country to King County, WA. “This is a very exciting time for Prince George’s County and hosting an NFL playoff game for the first time since 1999 means a great deal to this region and the team’s legion of fans,” Baker said. Baker's "coffee bet" is against King County Executive Dow Constantine on Sunday's NFC wildcard playoff game between the Redskins and Seattle Seahawks. What's at stake? The loser will wear the other team's jersey during a public event, and the winner will receive a case of coffee from the other city. The …

Redskins, Ravens Playoff Games May Net $5M In Tax Revenue

State Comptroller Peter Franchot says Sunday's matchups in Landover and Baltimore will bring in $2.5 million each.

While Sunday's football schedule is shaping up to be a dream day for fans of the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens, it's also a financial boon for the state. The Redskins and Ravens games—each hosting Sunday's NFL wild card round playoffs—are expected to net approximately $2.5 million in taxes for Maryland, state comptroller Peter Franchot told The Washington Post. Franchot said the increase in taxes is expected to come from "sales of high-priced playoff tickets, souvenirs, and concessions as well as taxes on bonuses for players and coaches," among other places, according to the report. “When both teams are in the playoffs, there’s a synergistic impact where folks just feel better in Maryland, and when folks feel better there’s more…

Ken Ulman Picks Up Trash in Redskins Garb

Ken Ulman dropped by Landover Wednesday to satisfy a bet with his Prince George's County equal.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman dropped by Landover on Wednesday to pick up roadside trash in a Redskins jersey, fulfilling the terms of a wager with Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker. The two top officials had placed a friendly bet on Sunday's matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Washington Redskins. Ulman, a diehard Ravens fan, lost out when Baltimore fell to the 'Skins 31-28 in overtime. Baker, ever the gracious victor, invited Ulman earlier this week to meet him at the Prince George's County Sports & Learning Complex in the shadow of FedEx Field. Though Ulman arrived sporting purple, he soon found himself clad in the burgundy-and-gold jersey of rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III. After some friendly trash talk…

Ulman to Make Good on Redskins/ Ravens Bet

After losing a bet, Howard County Executive Ken Ulman said he'd be picking up trash in Prince George's wearing a Redskins jersey.

County Executive Ken Ulman said he plans to be in Prince George's County later this week picking up trash while singing 'Hail to the Redskins' and wearing a Redskins jersey after losing a bet to Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker. Ulman is scheduled to make good on the bet on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Curry Sports and Learning Center in Landover. In a YouTube video released on Monday, Ulman said, "I'm having a tough, tough day. As you know the Ravens lost, and I lost my bet to [Baker]." Last week, Ulman challenged Baker to a bet that his favorite football team, the Ravens, would beat Baker's Redskins. On Sunday, the Redskins pulled off a 31-28 dramatic come-from-behind win in overtime. Now, Ulman is asking for a …

Baker Ups Ante on Ulman's Ravens/ Redskins Bet

The two county executives have a lot riding on Sunday's game.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Baltimore-Washington corridor: it is on. That's the message out from Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman ahead of Sunday's Ravens-Redskins matchup at FedEx Field. The two sparred on Fox 5 Thursday night, agreeing to a friendly wager over the game, which Ulman first posed to Baker earlier in the week in a YouTube video. Baker upped the ante even more during their on-air interview, suggesting that Ulman would have to pick up trash along Prince George's County roads while singing "Hail to the Redskins" should the Ravens lose. Ulman, apparently confident of a win, accepted. Ulman, a proud Ravens fan, had thrown down the gauntlet earlier by offering to wear the …

Ulman: 'Two Little Two Late'

Ken Ulman has had it up to here ... with the Redskins. And he's putting his faith to the test.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman is fed up and he wants Prince Georges County Executive Rushern Baker to know. “I’m sick of hearing about the Redskins’ new quarterback,” Ulman said in a statement.  “RG III will be TWO little and TWO late to handle the stifling Ravens defense," he said, referring to Redskins' quarterback Robert Lee Griffin III. Ulman and Rushern are supposed to attend this weekend's match between the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens at the Redskins' stadium. Ulman issued a challenge to Baker in advance of the game: if the Redskins win, he'll light up the Howard County government buildings in the Redskins' colors, burgundy and gold.  And he'll wear an RG3 jersey to work But if the Ravens win? Then Ulman wants …

Ulman to Baker: I'm Sick of Hearing about RG III

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman presents a wager to Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker -- if the Redskins against the Ravens win Howard County will be lit up burgundy and gold.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman is fed up and he wants Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker to know. “I’m sick of hearing about the Redskins’ new quarterback,” Ulman said in a statement.  “RG III will be TWO little and TWO late to handle the stifling Ravens defense," he said, referring to Redskins' quarterback Robert Lee Griffin III. Ulman and Rushern are supposed to attend this weekend's "Beltway Battle" between the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens at the Redskins' stadium. Ulman issued a challenge to Baker in advance of the game: if the Redskins win, he'll light up the Howard County government buildings in the Redskins' colors, burgundy and gold—and he'll wear an RG3 jersey to work.
