Investigators are working to identify a suspect.
Authorities say a woman was robbed at knifepoint Wednesday afternoon in Maryland City. According to Anne Arundel County Police, officers responded to the 200 block of Easton South around 3:20 p.m. on a report of a robbery. When they arrived, a 33-year-old woman at the scene told police she had been pushing a shopping cart down the road when an unknown man approached her and "engaged her in casual conversation." Suddenly, she said, the man pulled out a knife, demanded her purse, forced it off of her arm, and fled the area. Officers canvassed the vicinity but were uable to locate the suspect, police said. He's described as a 5'9" man in his 30s who was wearing a white T-shirt and tan shorts at the time. The woman was unharmed in the incident.

From the Laurel Police Department: The Laurel Police Department is seeking assistance identifying the suspect in the attached surveillance photos. On May 7, 2013, at approximately 2:15 pm, the suspect entered the BB&T Bank, 380 Main Street, and passed a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, approximately 6’0’’, with mustache and goatee, wearing black-rimmed glasses and dark clothing. The suspect left in an unknown direction. Anyone with information as to the identity of the suspect is encouraged to call the Laurel Police Department at 301-498-0092.

County police hope residents can help them identify the man pictured.
Prince George's County Police are hoping the public can help them identify the man pictured in this surveillance footage. According to PGPD detectives, this suspect may be responsible for two other recent bank robberies. On April 24, 2013 at 2:40 p.m., the suspect pictured walked into M&T Bank in the 3700 block of Donnell Drive in Forestville and demaded cash from a teller with a note. The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion in his late 20s with braided dreadlocks. He wore a black-hooded sweater, a gray or black jacket and green shoes during the robbery. Detectives said they believe the same suspect robbed the Capital One Bank in Suitland on April 15 and also in Clinton on March 20. Anyone with information on this …

Man was observed by police holding a gun to another man in the parking lot.
A Randallstown man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the armed robbery of a man in the parking lot at the Mall in Columbia in which police observed him holding a gun on the victim. On Sept. 6, 2012, police watched Pierre Antwan Booth, 29, and a Columbia man, Odell Kareem Copeland, 32, rob a Laurel man as the man attempted to enter his car at the mall parking lot. Police were positioned in a nearby parking garage in a surveillance position, according to the police report. Copeland and Booth were arrested shortly after the robbery. Copeland pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery last week. He was described as the lookout while Booth brandished the gun to steal the victim's cigarettes, car keys, $75 and his cell phone, …

Police said the men stole two tablet computers from Sears and assaulted a salesperson before crashing a stolen van in North Laurel.
Three Washington D.C. men were arrested on Wednesday by Howard County Police after police said they stole two tablet computers from Sears inside the Mall in Columbia. Police said the men asked to see the tablets in a display case and when the salesperson opened the case, one of the men shoved the clerk while another took the two tablets around 12:50 p.m. on March 20. The men ran out of the store and drove away in a 2003 Dodge Caravan, but were followed by a witness who saw the incident, according to police. Police caught up to the Caravan, but the men failed to stop, and while attempting to flee collided into another vehicle. No one was injured in the collision, said police. The suspects punched and kicked the victim before stealing his belongings.
A man was beaten and robbed of his shoes and medication in the early Saturday morning on S. Bruce Street in Laurel, according to Anne Arundel County police. The victim, a 25-year-old man, told police he was walking on S. Bruce Street near Gail Street when he was approached by two other men. One of the suspects punched the victim and knocked him to the ground. Once on the ground, the second suspect began kicking the victim, police said. The suspects then took the victim’s medication and shoes and fled on S. Bruce Street on foot, towards, S. Paula Street, according to the victim. Police searched the area and were unable to find the suspects. The victim refused medical attention, police said.

The Columbia man pleads guilty to a single count of armed robbery.
A Columbia man who committed an armed robbery in the Mall in Columbia parking lot as police looked on from a nearby parking garage pleaded guilty to armed robbery in Howard County Circuit Court on Friday. Odell Kareem Copeland, 32, was arrested in September after he and another man, Pierre Antwan Booth, 28, of Randallstown, were observed by police robbing a man inside his car in the mall parking lot near Union Jack's. The police report said officers wrote that Copeland acted as a lookout as Booth held a pistol to the man and stole his cigarettes, car keys, $75 and a cell phone.
