Baltimore Man Sentenced for Columbia Mall Jewelry Store Robbery

The man along with two others stole 35 Rolex watches from the jewelry store.

A Baltimore man was sentenced to 11 years for his involvment in a 2011 armed robbery of Arthur Edward Jewelers inside the Mall in Columbia. Reginald D. Dargan, Jr., 21, was sentenced to 135 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release./ He also was ordered to pay $33,255 in restitution earlier this month after being found guilty of the robbery, according to the Baltimore division of the FBI. According to the FBI, Dargan along with two other men, Deontay Harvey and Aaron Pratt, drove to the mall on March 30, 2011. Dargan was armed with a knife and the other two were armed with handguns, said the FBI. Man Attacked and Robbed of Shoes: Howard County Crime Reports

Columbia Robbery – Marble Faun Lane A man was approached by three men near the 10500 block of Marble Faun Lane and one of the men offered to buy the man’s shoes. When the man bent down to remove his shoes, the other men pushed him down, punched and kicked him, and ultimately stole his shoes around 4 p.m. on Feb. 13. Vandalism/ Breaking and Entering – Bare Bush Path A front door was kicked in, causing damage to the door frame, although nothing was stolen from a residence in the 1220 block of Bare Bush Path between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Feb. 13 Commercial Burglary – Benjamin Franklin Drive The lock on a storage container was cut off and 24 feet of copper were stolen from Kinsley Construction in the 6800 block of Benjamin Franklin Drive …

Man Pleads Guilty to 1990 Murder of Beltsville Woman

Thomas Lee Posey, 57, also admitted to two rapes from the same period.

A 57-year-old man has admitted to killing a Beltsville woman nearly 23 years after the crime occurred, according to Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks. Thomas Lee Posey pled guilty to first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree rape dating to 1990. He was sentenced to life in prison after entering the plea before Prince George’s County Circuit Judge Albert Northrop. According to a statement from Alsobrooks, Posey raped and murdered 22-year-old Margaret Perkins in June of 1990 while she was on a jog through a Berwyn Heights park. The Beltsville resident's body was later found by a group of firefighters playing softball. She showed signs of strangulation, Alsobrooks said. According to a Washington Post story …

Stunned Man Chases Off Robbers in Downtown Columbia: Crime Roundup

Columbia  Armed robbery Police say a victim was getting his belongings in a parking lot on the 10600 block of Gramercy Place at about 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 when two masked men approached him from behind. One of the men shocked the victim with a stun gun, according to police, and then demanded he drop his belongings. Police say the victim refused and then chased the men. They ran to an awaiting vehicle and fled, according to police. Back-to-Back Robberies Reported in Maryland City

Both incidents occurred Sunday night within half an hour of each other.

Two robberies—one successful, one attempted—were reported within half an hour of each other Sunday in Maryland City, according to Anne Arundel County police. The first occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Corridor Marketplace, police said. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, told officers she had been walking in a parking lot when two suspects approached her from behind. One allegedly pushed her to the ground before the pair grabbed her purse and ran off. No injuries were sustained. Police said a canvass of the area turned up no suspects. The second incident took place around 8:54 p.m. in the 100 block of Ertter Drive. The victims—a 16-year-old male, a 17-year-old male, and a 19-year-old male—told police that two suspects approached…
