During that time, shops will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Photo of the Day: Savage Mill Memories

Here's a look back at the original use of Savage Mill, which produced textiles for more than 100 years.

Historic Savage Mill is the local epicenter for artwork, zip lining and antique shopping, but the history of the buildings that make up the Mill is well documented. Fabrics like canvas for ship sails were produced in the Mill from 1822 to 1947, according to the Savage Mill website. Humans aren't the only ones cooling down with frozen yogurt this summer, thanks to a local pet food store in Savage.

Iced treats are one of the best ways to cool down and relax during the hottest days of the year, but some of the dogs in Howard County are turning the dog days of summer into "froyo" days, thanks to Clipper's Canine Cafe. How are you keeping your canine cool this summer? Tell us in comments.  The Yöghund frozen yogurt treats were free for dogs during a promotional event Saturday, and are among the organic treat and food options  at Clipper's–ranging from dehydrated chicken to cookies.
