Coastal Storm Could Bring Rain, Snow

According to the National Weather Service, a coastal storm could affect the area later this week.

Another storm is headed our way, but according to the National Weather Service, it’s not expected to pack quite the punch that Hurricane Sandy did. The current forecast calls for rain showers beginning Wednesday, changing to a rain and snow mix at night, according to meteorologist Heather Sheffield. At this point, she said, NWS isn’t expecting any accumulation.  The storm will have a “tight gradient of precipitation,” Sheffield said, meaning, essentially, it’s not expected to be a large storm. The storm may extend as far west as the Interstate 95 Corridor, she said, though the location isn’t yet certain. Another Storm on the Way? Maybe: Week Ahead in Weather

The National Weather Service predicts sunny skies, cold weather and maybe even snow.

Sun has been in short supply over the past week, but we may see a bit today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).  Unfortunately, according to the NWS forecast discussion, “Despite plenty of sunshine … max temps will remain below normal.” Skies are expected to clear as the day goes on today, but temperatures won’t rise much, hitting just 49 degrees and dropping to about 30 over night. Tuesday we’ll see clear, sunny skies with highs in the mid-40s. Tuesday night, temperatures should drop to the mid-30s.  Back to cloudy skies Wednesday, when rain is likely during the day and at night and temperatures range from the mid-30s to the mid-40s.
