Prince George's Schools Dismiss Early

Advancing snowstorm forces early dismissal in Prince George's County.

Prince George's County Public Schools will be dismissing two hours early on account of an approaching snowstorm. All afternoon and evening classes are also cancelled. There is one exception: the Prince George's County Public Schools Before and After School Extended Learning Program will be closing at 4 p.m.  The National Weather Service is forecasting an 80 percent chance of snowfall later this afternoon, with wintry precipitation beginning after 3 p.m. and continuing into the evening.

It is not about the little darlings being out in a drift. It is about the crazy driver that loses control and rams into a school bus and severly injures one of the little darlings. I for one am glad the county takes a proactive approach to the problem and legal issues that may arise. And guess who would have to pay a monotary legal judgement? Yes the taxpayers. Howard County Schools to Close Early Friday

Schools will close 1.5 hours early due to possible snow storm Friday afternoon.

All Howard County public schools will close 1.5 hours early Friday due to an expected afternoon snow storm. All aftercare programs, sponsored by the Columbia Association and the Department of Recreation & Parks in Howard County public schools have also been canceled, according to the school system. All school-sponsored and community-sponsored events, including high school athletic practices and games scheduled for this evening, are canceled. Baltimore, Carroll and Montgomery schools are among those that have announced earlier on Friday that they will close schools early Friday. A Hazardous Weather Outlook and Winter Weather Advisory have been issued by the National Weather Service Friday, and both include Howard and Carroll counties. The …
